Official Muir Woods visit

My first visit to Muir Woods, while glorious, only cut through a portion of the park. This morning, Mary, Sam and I went to make our first official family trip.

Once again the trees were outstanding, but the crowds were a bit distracting. You really felt like you were in one of America's most visited parks. Kids yelling, flip-flops flip-flopping ... and my favorite, the woman who exclaimed (loudly of course), "I JUST DON'T COME FROM A QUIET FAMILY." Like being quiet requires a genetic disposition of some sort...

However, we still had fun wandering about.

Like my earlier visit, Muir Woods had quite the population of deer. Mary counted at least 10 on this trip. I did this sketch of a buck we saw while waiting for Mary to return from the restroom. OK, I just clicked that button on Photoshop because it was such a campy shot, like something I would have bought as a third-grader for my dad for Father's Day.

Most important rule of the hike ... stay hydrated.
you never know when you'll get a kiss.
