Why Maker Faire?

#1 - Lately, Sam has been really digging woodshopping at the Planet and his Magnetix. (We aren't too concerned about him eating them.)

#2 - I am a BoingBoing enthusiast. I haven't made such a list, but if I were to rank my 10 favorite things about the web, I'm sure BoingBoing would make it. Thus I am a fan of Mark Frauenfelder, and therefore Make ... off to Maker Faire.

#3 - We thought it was about time to do something that didn't involve a beach or mountains or trees. I'm sure you agree. (Although we went to the beach right after.)

It turned out to be a good choice; we all had a great time watching the spectacles, listening to music and technological doing-it-yourselfing. I am making a commitment to do more making in the future.
