Today, my grandma turned 91. Woo-HOO! Sam and I are going to get to see her when we all head to DC next week (Thanks very much goes to Aunt Mary Lu.)
Well, I want to be 91 one day (April 29th, 2066 to be exact.) So, I took a bit of a hike today. I fittingly tried out the backpack I bought with some of my grandma's birthday money. With the 19lb pack, I hiked 9.37 miles from Rodeo Beach to Pirates Cove and back, with a brief stop at Hill 88. This hike is all uphill, downhill, uphill, downhill, uphill, downhill, uphill, downhill. It was actually 2919 total accent (which is more than climbing Mt. Tam!) It was an incredible hike though, the blue Pacific was always at my side; the graffiti of Hill 88 is quite entertaining; the solitude of Pirate's Cove was a serene place to rest. Hike pics.
