D.C. - Done and Check

We got back from Washington D.C. last night. Well, this morning at 3:00 AM.

I would love to write a lengthy post about the trip, but I am tired and have many things on "the to-do list" right now. So, I'll go the "dot-dot" route for now and we'll try to fill in later. However, the camera broke at the National Zoo, and I often transfer my memory of sequence of events to there, so I want to get it down before I forget.

Virgin America flight rocked (literally) ... Omni Shoreham was wonderful... Indian Dinner #1 was yummy ... walk past gala at French Embassy with lady in lights ... Early start to get Washington Monument tickets ... HOT AND HUMID (like near 100 degrees) ... Metro to the Mall ... Walk to Jefferson ... Breakfast ... WWII Memorial... Around the Washington Monument to the Holocaust Museum ... My person survived the holocaust, Mary and Sam's did not ... Lunch ... HOT AND HUMID ... Up to the top of the Washington Monument ... National Archives for the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Constitution ... Union Station and Ben and Jerry's ... Amazing and informative night time trolley tour ... stops at FDR, Vietnam War, Lincoln, Korean War, Marines (Iwo Jima) Memorials... Metro home ... exhausted sleep ... Mary goes to conference, Sam and I hang out with Mary Lu and Grandma at American Indian Museum ... HOT AND HUMID ... Nice lunch with stuffed tomato and buffalo sandwich ... Great seeing Mary Lu and Grandma (THANK YOU for visiting) ... Sam and I to the National Zoo ... Pandas, Hippo, Elephants, Small Mammals, Cheetahs... camera breaks (oh no.) ... HOT AND HUMID ... back to room ... to the pool! ... Indian Dinner #2 was yummy ... Bed ... Mary to conference, Sam and Cam to the Air and Space Museum ... 2 planetarium and one 3D IMAX (Cosmic Collisions, Black Holes, Sun) ... Everything in the Air and Space ... Sam touched a moon rock... bad lunch ... back to room ... back to pool ... bad dinner at "Irish pub" ... bed ... Mary to conference (and then Capitol), Sam and Cam back to the Mall ... Natural History Museum ... Hope Diamond and other Geological finds... 2 really good 3D Imax (Sea Monsters, Dinosaurs) ... Fossils and skeletons and stuffed things ... Art Gallery: Van Gogh, Vermeer, Monet, Manet, Picasso ... too many to list, really ... reading and chilling ... Snack with Mary in American Indian Museum ... to the hotel ... to the airport ... long delay on flight (but Virgin America Entertainment made it no big deal) ... home at 3AM.

Pictures from the first day and a half coming soon. The trip was wonderful ... our brains are overloaded. What a lovely experience.
