On June 8th, my friend brought up listening to JAPANDROIDS on his Facebook wall. So, being the Rdio addict I've become, I checked out their stuff. I liked it. I've mostly been listening to Outside Lands prep - but JAPANDROIDS kept pulling me back. I saw their new album "Celebration Rock" listed as a SPIN best album of 2012 so far. Finally on the morning of June 14th after continuous listening, I decided to see, "When do these guys come to SF?"
A majority of the time I do this - the answer is "last month." Crap. But not this time. This time, the answer was, "TONIGHT." Score. Sold out show. Damn. Stubhub. Nothing. Dang. Craigslist. Strike One. Then, Strike Two. SCORE. TIX.
I grabbed an Aussie friend and headed to The Independent. Cadence Weapon, the hip-hop opener was a perfect warm-up. Then, Brian on guitar and David on drums threw down some PERFECT garage/punk/melodic awesomeness. The show just plain r.o.c.k.e.d. So glad I went.
Go see these guys, asap.
